Terms of Service
These terms set out the agreement between you and Scholastiar when you use our website or pay for our study-abroad services. Please read them before you make a payment or send us your documents.
By using scholastiar.com, submitting an application through us, or paying a service fee, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
01About these terms
"Scholastiar", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Scholastiar Limited, a company registered in Nigeria under registration number RC 9518616, with its registered office at Block C9, Chimaobi Plaza, 13 Ogui Rd, Achara, Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria.
"You" means the person using our website or services. Where a parent, guardian or sponsor pays for or signs up on behalf of a student, "you" includes both the student and that person, and both are bound by these terms.
Any written service agreement, invoice or package description we give you forms part of these terms. If it conflicts with these terms, the specific agreement applies.
02Our services
Scholastiar is an education and workforce mobility consultancy. We help students, mainly from West Africa, gain admission to universities in Russia. Depending on the package you choose, our service may include:
- advice on universities, cities, programmes and study language (Russian-track or English-taught);
- preparing, checking and submitting university applications;
- arranging translation and notarisation of documents;
- following up with universities to obtain your admission and invitation letter;
- guiding you through your student visa application;
- support with flights, airport pickup, accommodation and arrival registration;
- general guidance during your first period in Russia.
The exact services, fees and stages included in your package are set out in your invoice or service agreement. Anything not listed there is not included.
We are an independent consultancy. We are not a university, an embassy, or a government body, and we do not act for any of them.
03No guarantee of admission or visa
We will use reasonable skill and care to present your application well. Where a decision depends on a third party, our responsibility is limited to doing our part of the process properly and on time.
04Eligibility and applicants under 18
You must be at least 18 to agree to these terms yourself. If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accept these terms and our Privacy Policy on the student's behalf, and remains responsible for payments and for the student's compliance with these terms.
You must have the academic qualifications a university requires for your chosen programme. We will tell you if we believe you do not meet a requirement, but the final assessment is the university's.
05Your responsibilities
To use our services you agree to:
- give us complete, accurate and up-to-date information;
- provide only genuine documents. We will stop work immediately, without refund, if we find forged, altered or misleading documents, and we may report them to the relevant university or authority;
- send documents and payments on time and only through our official channels: support@scholastiar.com and WhatsApp +7 (926) 371-70-48;
- keep your passport valid for the period the university and visa rules require;
- attend interviews, medical tests and appointments that are part of the process;
- read and follow the rules of your university and the immigration laws of Russia once you arrive, including registration and study attendance requirements;
- tell us promptly about any change in your circumstances, such as a new passport or phone number.
Delays or refusals caused by missing, late or inaccurate information from you are not our responsibility.
06Service fees and payment
Our service fees are shown on our website, in our messages, or in your invoice. Fees are quoted in [currency, e.g. NGN / USD] unless we say otherwise.
- Payment is due as stated on your invoice. We may split fees into stages, for example a fee to start processing and a fee after your invitation letter is issued: [describe your payment stages].
- We start or continue work on a stage only after the payment for that stage is confirmed.
- Pay only to the accounts named on an official Scholastiar invoice: [bank or payment processor]. We never ask for payment into a staff member's personal account. If anyone asks you to, contact us before paying.
- Bank charges, transfer fees and currency conversion costs on your side are your responsibility.
- We will issue a receipt for every payment. Keep it; you need it for any refund request.
We may change our prices for new clients at any time. A price change does not affect a stage you have already paid for.
07Costs not included
Unless your invoice clearly says otherwise, our service fee does not include costs charged by third parties, such as:
- university tuition, application, registration or preparatory-year fees;
- hostel or accommodation fees and deposits;
- visa, consular and embassy fees;
- medical examinations, HIV tests and health insurance;
- translation, notarisation and courier costs, where charged separately;
- flights, airport transfers, and living expenses.
These costs are set by the providers and can change without notice. Where we collect them from you to pay on your behalf, we pass them on at cost and their refund depends on the provider's own rules.
08Refunds
Our service involves work that starts as soon as you pay, so refunds depend on how far the process has gone.
| Stage | Refund of our service fee |
|---|---|
| You cancel before we start work on your file | [e.g. full refund, less payment charges] |
| You cancel after we have started, before any application is submitted | [e.g. 50%] |
| After your application has been submitted to a university | [e.g. non-refundable] |
| After your invitation letter is issued | Non-refundable |
| No university admits you despite a complete, genuine application | [e.g. refund of X% of the processing fee] |
| Your visa is refused | [state your policy, e.g. we re-apply once at no extra service fee] |
| We stop work because of false documents or a breach of these terms | No refund |
To request a refund, email support@scholastiar.com with your full name, receipt and reason. We reply within 14 days and pay approved refunds within [30] days to the account that made the payment.
Third-party costs in section 7 are refunded only if and when the provider refunds them to us.
09Timelines
Any timeline we give you is an estimate based on normal processing times. University admission, invitation letters and visas often take longer than expected, and intake deadlines are set by universities. We will keep you informed of delays, but we are not responsible for delays caused by universities, authorities, couriers, banks, or you.
10Using our website and Apply page
Information on scholastiar.com, including university lists, cities, programmes, tuition fees and deadlines on our Apply page, is for general guidance. It is collected from public sources and can change. Always confirm fees and requirements on the university's own website before you apply or pay.
The Apply page opens a pre-filled email in your own email app, addressed to the university. That email is sent by you, directly to the university. We are not part of that exchange unless you have engaged our paid service.
You agree not to:
- use the website for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers or its data;
- copy or scrape our content or university database for commercial use;
- send spam or misleading messages through our contact channels or community groups;
- pretend to be Scholastiar or one of our staff.
11Intellectual property
The Scholastiar name, logo, website content, guides, videos, templates and university database belong to Scholastiar Limited or its licensors. You may view and share them for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell or republish them without our written permission.
Documents you give us remain yours. You allow us to use them only to deliver our services, as described in our Privacy Policy.
12Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Subject to that:
- we are not liable for decisions made by universities, embassies, airlines, migration authorities or other third parties;
- we are not liable for loss caused by information you gave us that was incomplete, inaccurate or late;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of income, opportunity or a study year;
- our total liability to you for any claim relating to our services is limited to the service fees you paid us for the service concerned.
13Indemnity
You agree to cover any loss, cost or claim we suffer because you gave us false documents or information, broke these terms, or broke the law while using our services.
14Ending our service
You can stop our service at any time by writing to support@scholastiar.com. Refunds follow section 8.
We may stop working with you, with written notice, if you provide false documents, fail to pay, behave abusively towards our staff or partners, or break these terms. We may also stop if continuing would break the law.
When our service ends, we return original documents we hold and handle your information as our Privacy Policy describes.
15Events outside our control
We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These include changes in immigration or education law, sanctions and restrictions on international payments, embassy or border closures, suspended flights, pandemics, war, civil unrest, natural disasters, and failures of banks or communication networks. If such an event stops us from delivering a stage, we will tell you and agree the next steps with you.
16Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
If you have a complaint, contact us first. We will try to resolve it within 30 days. If we cannot, either side may refer the dispute to mediation, and then to arbitration in Enugu, Nigeria, under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023. This does not stop either side from going to the courts of Nigeria for urgent relief, and it does not remove any consumer protection rights you have under the law where you live.
